Episode 9, Page #1 - "Booth Duty"

For archival purposes and, well, just to have extra storage space, I've had 4 external hard drives towering atop my desktop computer's casing for quite a while now. But given that a few of them were getting pretty old, I decided to retire two of them. So I bought a new 750GB Western Digital "My Book" external hard drive yesterday and that's when things got...complicated.
I unplugged my oldest external hard drive, a Que!M3 80GB from around 2002/2003 that I named "Alpha," and plugged it back in...and it all of the sudden wouldn't spin-up. Which is messed up, because I had just used it two days before, and it would've been reeeeeally sucky if it had just up and died. Especially since it was filled to capacity with every MP3 I had collected prior to mid-2007 (i.e. my entire MP3 collection). So yeah, it would've been just my luck to lose them right when I was about to transfer them.
Since I was retiring another external hard drive (a 150GB Western Digital called "Lambda") that had some known bad sectors where data has been lost before (i.e. some episodes of Alias), I went ahead and transferred all the remaining data off that drive and onto my new "My Book." Once that was complete... I took both of the retired hard drives completely apart and Frankensteined the Alpha hard drive into the Lambda case. And you know what? It worked.
It turns out that just the actual electronics that powered the old drive had died, but the actual hard drive itself was fine. So thankfully, I was able to copy all my data onto my new drive and put that old friend to rest.
All that aside, today, we kick off Aoi House In Love!: Episode 9, which is called "Twilight." Yes, it's named after the ELO song that appears in Gainax's "Daicon 4" video (and the opening of the live action "Densha Otoko"). This chapter is just 9 pages long, so we don't have much longer to wait until we kick off the final volume. Excited yet?
So, how's Shiei doing? Well, right now, she's just two pages away from wrapping up the penultimate chapter. Yep, she's just 2 pages away from the very last chapter. Wish her luck!
