Episode 2, Page #1 - "Parking Garage"

Aoi Notes: 05/04/2007
So, I beat Pokemon: Diamond on Wednesday morning and man were those final battles with the Elite 4 were challenging. I was more than prepared for it with a level 69 Infernape, a level 59 Dailga and a level 55 Gyarados, but it's just the amount of battles you have to do in a row that really stretches your supplies to their limits. Especially ethers. Maybe I missed the shop that sold them or something, but I only ever had the ones that I found naturally throughout the game and those were just enough. In a way, having just enough items and being at just the right level is what makes final battles in RPGs a lot of fun. Obviously, if you're underpowered, then they're just frustrating then. But I've played enough RPGs that the only way to win is to level and level a lot. Heck, level so much that you can do 1 hit kills! Yeah, that's the way!
And yes, once I finished the Elite 4 battles and proved I was a Pokemon Master, I did finish filling in the missing spots in my Pokedex so I could get it upgraded. I'm so not ever going to try and fill that National Pokedex, though. I'm anal about some stuff, but definitely not when it comes to something like that. Besides, I don't even have any of the Game Boy Advance Pokemon games...
Pokemon aside, today's page kicks off Episode 2 of Aoi House in Love!, which is called "Check-In Time." We're officially at Hatsu-Con now, so lots of fun stuff in store!
Speaking of Aoi House in Love!, Shiei's working on the finishing touches for this next book right now. She finished the actual pages earlier in the week and has moved on to the chapter title pages and filler art. That stuff's a lot easier to do because it's mainly pin-ups and such, so things are moving along really smoothly. As for me, I wrote all the extras for the book and am picking out some nice images to include with those. The only other major thing I need to still do is finish up the lettering script for the last 12 pages of the book. That shouldn't be too hard, though. It's not like I have 70+ pages to tackle like I did a week ago. Now that was insane!
Anyway, I'm going to see Spider-Man 3 this afternoon, so best get some sleep. Shiei and I'll catch you back here on Monday! See you then!

P.S. This month's new vote incentive is a non-logoed version of the cover art for the upcoming Aoi House in Love! Vol. 1. So be sure to show your support for Aoi House over at TopWebComics.com and BuzzComix.net so you can get that image!
