Welcome welcome! The day you've all been waiting for is finally here... the start of "The Great Con Caper!"
In case this is your first time reading Aoi Notes in a while, today's page marks the official start of the "second series" of Aoi House which is officially entitled Aoi House in Love! As you'll soon learn, the "in Love!" part of the title is there for a reason and it's meant to hammer home the idea that this second series is taking the story and characters in some really fun and original places. You're just going to have to keep reading to find out what all is in store! But trust me...it's going to be a wild ride!
You might also have noticed that we have a new Aoi House logo at the top of the page. We've been around for over two years now, so what better time than the present to show off a new and improved logo, right?
The logo is actually a modified version of the new "in Love!" logo that will appear on the cover of Aoi House in Love! Vol. 1, which'll be out in July '07--just in time for con season! Here, have a peek at the cover...
And for anyone wanting to complete their set of color Aoi House character chibis... #7 Jessica and #8 Morgan are up right now as vote incentives for supporting Aoi House over on BuzzComix.net and TopWebComics.com. So be sure to show your support for the series by voting! ^_^
All that aside, you might've noticed yesterday was April Fool's Day...or maybe you didn't. I think this year was probably the lamest April Fool's I've seen in a while. Not much...happened. Sure, Joystiq.com posted news of VG Cats' Metal Gear make-over, but most of the other jokes were pretty poorly done. Well, it is hard for anyone to top some of the jokes defunct gaming site The Gia used to pull (a dancing mini-game in Final Fantasy X, anyone?). I think the only consistently interesting place to find decent April Fool's Jokes is EGM. Even though Mushroom Kingdom Hearts was obviously a joke...but at least it actually was a dang cool idea.
Heh, I remember back when Animefringe did some of it's own weird April Fool's Jokes. They were always an excuse to give us an extra day to work on getting the next issue finished, but they were fun to put together. Probably the best of those is actually still archived online (though, without the Department of Justice and other Government agency logos, sadly). That's actually worth reading just for the weird hentai titles alone...
