Episode 11, Page #1 - "Kitchen Confidential"
Aoi Notes: 10/30/2006
Well, October's just about over, but I'm kind of glad. November is a big month with a lot of things happening or coming out. Obviously, Aoi House Vol. 2 and Kashimashi Vol. 1 get printed really soon and I'm dying to see how those turn out. But November also means that the Nintendo Wii and PlayStation 3 come out and all the stores start really gearing up for Christmas. I don't like the cold, but I do like this time of year. Maybe that's just because I like spending money... XD
Anyway, today we kick off Episode 11 of Aoi House, which is a little chapter I like to call "Movie Magic." I'm not going to say much about this right now, you'll just have to see how it plays out.
So, on with the questions...
DarkAngelyuri asks: "Have you ever read any Yaoi Based Manga or watched any? Or have you read any manga books that had a little bit yaoi in them or watched any anime that had any? Just wondering."
I've read and seen bits and pieces of quite a few shonen-ai and yaoi titles. When Animefringe was up and running, I would get a lot of screeners coming to my house that I would in turn send out to other people on the staff to do reviews of. I won't lie and say that I didn't flip through most of the manga I got to see if it was something I would like. But to be honest, yaoi isn't really my thing, so I would skim the books and send them to Janet since she seemed to enjoy reviewing larges amounts of hentai and yaoi. (This included most of the titles in the Be Beautiful line and some others.)
On the anime side, I've seen quite a few of the classic shonen-ai titles like Gravitation, Weiss Kreuz, Earthian, and others. I don't actively go out and download yaoi titles or read shonen-ai/yaoi manga, but if it crosses my path and it's worth reading, then I don't have a problem looking at it. Who knows, it might have a decent story. [I also like AMVs, so that's another way to get exposed to a lot of great shonen-ai out there.]
Alex asks: "I wanna know If Sandy gets any love?"
Sandy may get some love in the 3rd/4th volumes, but we'll have to see where the story goes. Right now, he's pretty much a human pin cushion...and even more so in the Aoi House 4-koma.
And that's a wrap for today. Have a Happy Halloween and we'll see you all back here on Wednesday!
