Episode 10, Page #1 - "Downtime"

Aoi Notes: 09/01/2006

Welcome to a brand new story arc! Yep, today kicks off Episode 10, which I've titled "Charmed." Not going to say anything about what happens in this chapter, but it is going to be a really fun fan service romp. ^_^

BTW, I know everyone loved to hate Carlo, but I'm sad to say that Carlo's short time with Alex is over. Yes, sorry all you Alex/Carlo shippers...Carlo's back to working full-time at the mall bookstore. I've actually got a little poll up in the Aoi House forum where you can vote if you're going to miss Carlo or not. He/she was always meant to be a supporting character, but a pivotal one!

So, what's new with me? Eh, I kind of made myself sick in the process of finishing the rewrite on Neconoclasm. See, I'm kind of weird... I actually talk to myself and say lines of dialogue in the character's voices when I'm working on a script. It's just something I do out of habit. I mean, if you read a manga out loud, then the dialogue should sound natural and roll of the tongue. My problem is that I'll talk to myself and do these high-pitched voices and stuff and it'll kill my voice after a while. Evidentially, my sore throat lead to me catching a cold and getting a mild fever. And when that happens...all you want to do is sleep.

That whole "acting out" voices thing is something that I've done for, uh, forever, so it's not like I can just stop. It kind of happens out of habit. Back in when I was in school, I'd actually read stories I wrote and do the voice, so I always had people rolling from that. I also would even make my own audio tapes of my stories and give them out to friends.

You know, I just had this thought... when you're a kid and you're in school... you always seem to have so much time to play video games and read books and all this other stuff AND somehow go to school and do homework. But somehow it gets harder to do any of that stuff when you're out of school and have a job. I wonder why that is...? [Well, as far as video games go... those older 8 and 16-bit games weren't like the stuff we have now. You could just pick those up, play for a while, and then stop. Now, it takes a lot longer to get anywhere. Guess that's why I have grown to love portable games a lot more.]

And on that note, it's time to wrap up another week. See you Monday!
