Episode 1, Page #1 - "Chewed Out"
Aoi Notes: 05/23/2005
Hey, ya'll! Come on in. Take a seat! Don't worry...I'm not like mean ol' Mr. Perkins. I'm really cool. You'll see. ^_^
Anyways, I'd like to welcome everybody to the very first installment of the all-new Aoi House! My name is Adam Arnold, Aoi House's humble writer and creator. For all you ladies out there, I'm 24 years old, 5'6", 135 lbs., have long brown hair with blue eyes, I'm an Aries and my blood type is AB. Oh, and I'm single. Gotta make sure I add that part.
Well, enough about me, let's talk Aoi House. For those of you not in the loop, this series is actually the evolution of a concept that first saw life as a 36-episode webmanga earlier this year. Thanks to astonishing support from our readers, Seven Seas Entertainment took notice and decided to relaunch the series with a future printed edition squarely in mind. It also allowed me, as a writer, the chance to actually refine my concept and characters as I had first hand knowledge of what readers identified most with.
I'm also not a person to retread on something I'd already written unless I absolutely feel that what was originally written was the best way to express a scene. Aoi House is very much a series filled with loveable and wacky characters that practically write themselves. So, I promise you...get ready for something awesome!
Joining me on this journey is Shiei, the brilliant young artist that has been drawing everyone's favorite secret agent, Amazing Agent Luna. Her art is simply astonishing. Every new page is an absolute treat to behold and she's doing things with my scripts that I hadn't even imagined.
You might actually find it interesting to know that there is very little lead-time with Aoi House. I've written a chapter in advance at this point and Shiei just finished pages three and four. So, you're literally getting to see Aoi House as soon as soon as it gets lettered. Pretty amazing, actually.
One thing I really want to touch on is the very section of text that you are reading--Aoi Notes. Yes, this is a blog and it's something that will accompany every new installment of Aoi House when they go live each Monday, Wednesday and Friday. I love getting the chance to just talk about anything. So, I hope you'll keep reading them, because I've got a lot of stuff to say!
Well, I guess it's time to wrap things up for tonight. I'm sure I'll see you back here on Wednesday, but feel free to drop by the forum and let us know what you think!
-Adam Arnold
