Is there a place in the Philippines where the Vol. 1's are sold?

Like Comic Quest?

Or do I have to bother the staff in the country whenever I see them in the con ( yes I'm referring to you Kuya Kanal and Kuya Ilog).....

I saw several sevenseas manga at Powerbooks like no man's land and unearthly. But the price is horrendous: P700!!! I wish there was a Philippine discount. heheheh for us poor filipinos!!! :anger2:

Kuya Ilog = Taga-Ilog (of CCCom?) = Buckethead??

I dunno if there's some sort of importation tax or some thing.

But hey I'm not complaining. Comic Quest sells Tokyopop manga at about round 600 pesos....

Ay amf Powerbooks..... you DO know owerbooks sells at stiff prices :p

And yes, Kuya Ilog = Buckethead. I dunno if I still have the luxury to call the CCCom guys Kuya though, as the only times I've seen them is on Komikons....

Tip: You can wait until Powerbooks will have another sale just like last January because you could get a 20% discount on all imported books, manga included. Last January, I bought Case Closed (gollancz manga) there cuz they're selling it for P190 (about $3.50) after discount. :happyhappy:

Powerbooks don't have all the titles.

I bought my Amazing Agent Luna vol.2 and Earthsong vol.1 at around P500++... that's already discounted, since the manga are priced at around P700++

Also, if you sign up for their "special orders service", only Amazing Agent Luna vol.1 and 2 are available, as well as No Man's Land, Captain Nemo, and some select titles.

They are not accepting orders of Chugworth, Destiny's Hand, Earthsong, Inverloch and other titles by SevenSeas which they have not previously introduced to the market... Amazing Agent Luna vol.3 is included in the "unavailable for special order" list.

I've just bought about US$100 worth of Seven Seas manga from Amazon.com, minus shipping to the Philippines. It costs around P700 to P750 per book (shipping costs included)-- sucks.

that must stink, considering that most of the artists are filipino...

does that even make sense?

Despite the fact that Seven Seas is based in Los Angeles?

International distribution is always a tricky beast. So as Seven Seas is a based in the States, our primary market is the North American one.
