Aoi House was already super popular before this right? That's why it wasn't offered? _________________ http://www.khextreme.co.uk/

A Monopoly movie?? Whoah! You're right, that does sound pretty silly.
But it looks like that was set up, according to the article you linked, by the William Morris Agency, which falls under my disclaimer about agents and actors. Still, I know that Hasbro is a client of William Morris, so they're just trying to do right by their client. If I were Hasbro, I'd be very happy.
Also, Ridley Scott is a good filmmaker, in general, so maybe we'll all be surprised.
Remember what everyone was saying about making a movie based on a theme-park ride? (Pirates of the Caribbean.) And now, two sequels later... |

Oh, it gets better. Not only did someone have the bright idea to make a sequel to WarGames, but there's also this abomination.
Actors and agents may be the sleazier and stupider group in Hollywood, but they're not the people who greenlight this garbage. |

In my mind Ridley Scott lost it a long time ago. Every movie after Blade Runner has been a step down. I know I'm in the minority here but I didn't feel Gladiator was a very good film at all. I feel that way even more now in the light of a HIGHLY SUPERIOR film called
300
Which was also based on a Graphic Novel. So I agree with the Prez...as people tire of Super Hero derived stories I think there will be a big shift to films derived from other types of Graphic Novel story telling.
Now if there was only some way to get Chinese comic book titles into the forefront in America!...Hmmmmm... |

I don't quite think I'll be able to form an intelligent discussion for a while now. My brain...has just turned to mush.
Why would anyone make something as foul as that? _________________ Oh admonishing melody, arise in the name of the Necromancer. Now know true power!

For naming the asian girl Jade the writers should be tarred and feathered.
To more serious conversation, a manga which I would like to see made into a movie is Jing: King of Bandits by Yuichi Kamakura. This book is about a kid who can steal anything. He lives in a surreal world where Lewis Carroll meets Tim Burton. The book's premise is perfect for movie as there is no real backstory other than Jing is a thief looking for priceless treasure to steal, not all of which are silver and gold. If handled correctly, it could be the next Harry Potter or Chronicles of Narnia.
Just food for thought. When's someone going to make a Death Note tv show? _________________
