Heh loved the strip. I have to somewhat agree with Jason on some parts. But finding out the whole story really helps. Even if I didn't know what the heck Nymphet was.

Were you really that super frustrated Adam?

Jason,

Great column. I’m happy and impressed you’ve been able to keep a sense of humor in all of this. I look forward to seeing how a manga gets from Japan to my local bookstore. I'll also be interesting is seeing how you acquire and develop your original titles too. As a bibliophile it fascinates me to see what it takes to get a book printed.

By the way, I’m still campaigning to have Seven Seas show up at the east coast conventions in 2008. (Sorry Adam, I won’t stop asking until you make it to either one of the New York conventions or Otakon)

You guys did know there was another "Hot for Teacher" in the (US) market which also happens to be a porn anime, right?

Yeah, it would've never gotten that far. Another one of the possible titles that isn't mentioned in the article was "Teacher's Pet," which was pulled from the lyrics of "Don't Stand So Close to Me."

On its own, that would have been an innocent and inoffensive enough title. Knowing that its was specifically inspired by those lyrics, though, paints it with the same dirty brush that "Nymphet" was.

Oh well. Sometimes it's not so easy.

Excellent blog. I really commend Jason for taking the time to do what he's doing whether I agree with his assessment or not. Yes, I do read japanese and I say his interpretation excludes some factors of psychology and human physiology, but that can be discussed via PM if he's interested. Its not that simple Smile (people can read the exact same text and arrive at more than one assessment depending on their referential background)

Anyway, very good move with the blog. Makes the company feel a lot more up close and human.

I just realized that on the banner, it says "S.S. Seven Seas" on the life raft. Would that make it S.S.S.S?
