I wonder what's in that pipe. The first thing that comes to mind when I see a pipe like that is a 19th century opium den. Apparently it's legal though? And what's got Max losing her composure all of a sudden?

Hmmm... Dead person. I don't see what kind of effect dead person would have. Unless maybe they died from an accute overdose of something.

The ashes of people could be counted as one I guess. Destroys your lungs all the same, and you go halucinogenic with sadness, just not foreign substances.

Shame on Riley. Giving us Ohio people a bad name.

The ashes of people still aren't plants, so no, they don't count as herbs.

Besides, you can't smoke ashes, mainly because, well, they're ashes, as in the stuff that gets left behind after everything remotely flammable has burned away.

Well, technically you can smoke ashes, since smoke essentially is (really fine-grained) stuff that's left behind after burning something (IOW ash).

Except that smoke and ash are not the same. Pure white ash has no flammable matter left in it, whereas smoke has numerous different compounds, vapors, oils, etc.
